Oprah’s Encouraging Words
Known entertainer, Oprah Winfrey, has spent years in the spotlight making the world brighter with her charm and her wisdom. Many people look to her for advice on all aspects of life because of the hard work she used to get success and how she is sharing her wealth and wisdom. Oprah once said “Turn your wounds into wisdom.” her words encourage people to discover how to move on from their past and to use earlier events to give them knowledge. This quote, and many others Oprah says, have inspired Americans to help themselves and others in life.
The “wounds”(Winfrey) of the past help propel you forward towards your future. You can use your past to your advantage, discovering the mistakes made and learning how to avoid them in future situations. Or you can not think about what you have done and hope that you do not make the same mistake. Oprah’s advice is to find what you can do better and to do it, and with all of her success and fame it is no surprise that she looks back to go forward.
Her advice helps me everyday in different ways. At school it is important to know the correct
answers to questions that were not right on a test, so that in the future you do not miss a similar one. At cheer it is important to discover a mistake before it is performed, so on the day of the day it is shown to an audience, the team looks uniform. But the “wisdom”(Winfrey) that comes from learning from your past is not limited to school and sports. At home when I was little I burnt my finger from taking out a piece of toasted bread, I have not done this since. There are many experiences that if the problem is discovered, the future can be fixed.
Americans everywhere use her words of wisdom to their advantage. Steve Jobs, the founder of Apple, had many prototypes of all of his computers before releasing them to the public. He did this because although when creating them he thought they would be perfect, he discovered that they each had many issues with them. Once he found the “wounds” (of the computer) he would not make the same mistake hoping to achieve a superior computer. Today we still see this in the computers that are released publicly as Apple’s models have advanced from the Macintosh to the Macbook Pro.
Every day we us Oprah Winfrey’s famous advice “Turn your wounds into wisdom.” In school, sports, jobs, and the small things in life it is important to find why what you have done previously has not been perfect and try to make the next activity better. You can never stop improving and if you do not believe me, listen to Oprah who has gone far in life.
Turn your wounds into wisdom.
